More from BILL's terms

Spend & Expense referrals pay $75 to $600 depending on the referee's approved credit amount; both payouts apply if a referral qualifies for both.

What this structure costs on your numbers

Take a plan of $50 a month: $600 in the first 12 months, at a 70% gross margin. Keeping half of the gross profit leaves a reward budget of $210 for each referred customer. These are example figures, not BILL's.

With BILL's structure, the rewards for one referred customer cost $100. For 100 referred customers, if 50% would not have bought anyway, the program returns $11,000 of net contribution (110% ROI). It breaks even when 23.8% of referred customers are new because of it.
