Referral invitation email template
Copy a customer invitation and a personal sharing note. Keep the benefit, qualifying action and incentive disclosure close to the link.
Replace the bracketed fields here, then copy. Edits stay in this page only and are lost when you leave or reload. No account required.
Worked example: a specific, honest introduction
For a fictional scheduling product: 'You mentioned the back-and-forth of booking customer interviews. I use Example Schedule to offer time slots. If you use my link and become a paying customer, you get $10 off your first invoice and I get $20 in account credit 30 days after your first collected payment. The offer is for new customers only.' Use this only if the sender's experience and the offer are true. Replace every placeholder and verify the destination before sending.
Keep the sender clear
The first message comes from the product to its own eligible customers. The second is a note the customer chooses to send. Do not make a bulk brand message look like a personal recommendation, or import the customer's contacts as part of using this template.
Say what the reward depends on
'Get $20' is incomplete if the friend must pay and remain eligible through a review period. State the qualifying action near the benefit. Avoid invented urgency, earnings claims or an endorsement the sender has not made.
Make the connection visible
The personal note says the sender receives a benefit beside the referral link. Keep that sentence when shortening the email. Review the disclosure and email rules that apply to the audience; the sample is copy guidance, not a complete legal policy.
Acceptance checklist
- The sender, offer and personal experience are accurate.
- The link belongs to the intended sender and reaches the right destination.
- The benefit, timing, exclusions and terms agree across email and landing page.
- A real test message displays well on mobile and its preference link works.
